Parts of Delhi received light rainfall on Sunday morning, bringing some respite from the prevailing dry conditions, as per the India Meteorological Department (IMD) data.
On Sunday, the Safdarjung weather station, considered the city’s representative observatory, recorded a maximum temperature of 30.1 degrees Celsius, about 3 degrees Celsius lower than the 33.2 degrees Celsius recorded a day earlier.
But the maximum temperature was still 1.2 degrees Celsius above normal, according to the IMD data. Also, Safdarjung recorded a minimum temperature of 18.7 degrees Celsius, which is 3.6 degrees Celsius more than normal. Safdarjung and Lodhi Road recorded 0.8 mm rainfall each, while Palam and Ayanagar received 0.4 mm and 2.6 mm of rainfall respectively.
While no rain is predicted for the next two days, the city is likely to witness “very light” showers accompanied by strong surface winds on March 18, as per the weather office.
