Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal on Wednesday said the constituents of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Tamil Nadu were working together to strengthen the alliance in the State.

To a query about the possibility of bringing actor Vijay’s TVK into the NDA, Mr. Goyal said the question should be posed to AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami, who heads the NDA in Tamil Nadu.

“All I know is that we have leaders including Anbumani of the PMK, T.T.V. Dhinakaran of the AMMK, G.K. Vasan of the TMC and others in the alliance and, along with Mr. Palaniswami and BJP State president Nainar Nagenthran, we are working together to strengthen the alliance, and we will go to the people with a strong and committed alliance to defeat the DMK and work for the welfare of the people of the State,” he said.
