Two students who were on their way to take an Intermediate examination were killed in a hit-and-run accident on Thursday (March 12, 2026) morning.

The victims were identified as 22-year-old Bikki , and 17-year-old Suraj, a student. Both were residents of Kothur in Rangareddy district and originally hailed from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh respectively.

According to Shamshabad Police Inspector K. Narender Reddy, the two had left Kothur on a motorcycle early in the morning to travel to Shamshabad to write their first-year Intermediate examinations. Bikki was riding the motorcycle while Suraj was travelling pillion.

At around 8 a.m., while they were travelling along NH44 near Madanapalle in the Shamshabad, an unidentified vehicle allegedly being driven at high speed rammed into the motorcycle from behind. The impact caused both riders to fall onto the road, after which the vehicle ran over them.

Both victims died on the spot. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene without stopping, the police said. Following the incident, a case was registered at Shamshabad police station and an investigation was initiated.
