Two men were found dead inside a car in north Delhi on Tuesday, with preliminary investigations suggesting suffocation as the cause, the police said.

A police team, acting on a tip-off, found a white car parked near a drain on the roadside.

“Preliminary inquiry indicates that there were no visible injury marks on the bodies. Both men were found seated inside the closed vehicle, and a foul odour was emanating from it. It appears the deaths may have occurred due to suffocation,” a police officer said.

The deceased were later identified as Vikas, 42, a driver and resident of Ambedkar Colony in Khera Khurd, and Bijender, alias Bhola, 36, a plumber from the same locality, who was found in the back seat.

Police recovered three liquor pouches from the car, two sealed and one open.
