March 9 (UPI) -- A Maryland man who kept seeing the same numbers appear on license plates used those digits to play the lottery and scored a $100,000 prize.
The Fort Washington man told Maryland Lottery officials he was shopping before the holidays when he bought a pair of $1 Pick 5 tickets bearing the number combination 25121 from the Royal Food Mart in Fort Washington.
He said those numbers had recently been appearing to him on license plates.
"If you see a number three or four times, play it," he said. "You just might get it."
Each ticket earned him a $50,000 prize in the Dec. 20 drawing, for a grand total of $100,000.
