LONDON: Bahrain announced on Monday that it intercepted 102 ballistic missiles and 171 unmanned aerial vehicles since the end of February, amid the US and Israeli military action against Tehran’s authoritarian regime.
The General Command of the Bahrain Defence Force described the waves of ongoing attacks as part of “Iranian terrorist aggression” launched against the country, according to the Bahrain News Agency.
It said that targeting civilians and private property with missiles and drones violates international humanitarian law and the UN Charter.
“These indiscriminate attacks represent a direct threat to regional peace and security,” the General Command said.
The statement confirmed that Bahrain’s airspace remains secure with forces demonstrating their readiness for combat. It urged the public to stay indoors and avoid filming military operations or debris sites. It also cautioned against spreading unverified information.
