March 9 (UPI) -- The Las Vegas Raiders agreed to acquire cornerback Taron Johnson through a trade with the Buffalo Bills.
Sources told NFL Network, ESPN and The Athletic on Sunday night that the Raiders agreed to send a sixth-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft to the Bills in exchange for Johnson and a seventh-round selection.
The Bills announced Johnson's release Friday, but opted to reverse course before that transaction could be finalized.
Johnson, 29, appeared in 13 games last season for the Bills. He logged 57 combined tackles and four passes defensed. The eight-year veteran, who joined the Bills as a fourth-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, signed a three-year, $30.7 million extension with the franchise in 2024.
He is under contract through the 2027 campaign.
