Regular online mock tests and YouTube-based preparation helped Ghaziabad’s Nikita Verma realise her dream of clearing the UPSC civil services examination.
“I was always confident of clearing the mains if I got through prelims,” said Ms. Verma, 24, who achieved an All-India Rank of 30.
A postgraduate in Political Science from Daulat Ram College, Delhi University, Ms. Verma said she had always wanted to get into the civil services. “The most rigorous period for me was the three months between the prelims and mains examinations. Otherwise, I could take time out for my family and friends before prelims. I’d say aspirants should stay honest with their preparation and not give up,” she said, adding that this was her third attempt.
Jamia scores big
The UPSC declared the results on Friday, recommending 958 candidates for appointment. Delhi-NCR accounted for at least 11 of the top 30 qualifiers.
