New in-vitro fertilisation (IVF) centres will be established in two government institutions as part of a broader push to strengthen medical education and tertiary healthcare infrastructure in Karnataka.
Presenting the 2026–27 Budget, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said ₹1 crore has been allocated for each of the IVF facilities — one in Bengaluru and another in Kalaburagi. The move is expected to expand access to assisted reproductive services in government institutions.

Another ₹10 crore has been set aside for construction of a boys’ hostel for MBBS and BDS students of Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute (BMCRI).
