An Alabama woman was fatally shot in a hospital by her National Guardsman husband over the weekend in an apparent murder-suicide shortly after she gave birth.
Precious Johnson, 24, and her husband Kynath Terry Jr., 19, were identified by devastated family members who spoke to local news station WVTM 13. The two were found dead with gunshot wounds Sunday night at Baptist Health Brookwood Hospital in Homewood, police said.
A preliminary investigation by police determined that the pair died in an apparent murder-suicide.
Terry’s mother told WVTM 13 she had no idea her son, who just completed National Guard training, could become violent.
She said the couple had been having marital issues prior to their child’s birth, and Johnson did not want Terry’s family at the hospital during the delivery.
