March 4 (UPI) -- Miami University basketball coach Travis Steele says his 30-0 RedHawks are capable of making a March run to the Sweet 16 and potentially Elite Eight.

Steele made the comment after the RedHawks beat the Toledo Rockets 74-72 in their final home game of 2025-26 on Tuesday in Oxford, Ohio.

"We want to win the Mid-American Conference tournament championship," Steele said on ESPN. "We want to cut down those nets in Cleveland. Then we want to advance in the NCAA tournament.

"The beauty of the NCAA tournament, it's different than the NBA. In the NBA, the best team is usually going to win because it's the best of seven [games]. The NCAA tournament is so cool because it's just 40 minutes, one game.
