Dancer and choreographer Tamar Ben-Ami, who in her youth was in a relationship with the Palestinian national poet Mahmoud Darwish, died last week of cancer at 79. She is survived by her husband, Andy, her sister Azza, as well as nephews, friends and students. Her funeral was held on Wednesday at Yarkonim Cemetery.
