March 2 (UPI) -- Police in Washington were called out on a report of a "determined beaver" attempting to cross a busy road "with zero regard for public safety."
The Redmond Police Department said on social media that officers responded last week to a report of a suspicious subject described as a "determined beaver" attempting to cross the road near the intersection of Avondale Road Northeast and Northeast 95th Street with zero regard for public safety."
The department shared a combination of bodycamera footage and cellphone footage captured by a witness.
"Despite clear verbal commands, the subject refused to comply and continued evading officers, demonstrating blatant disregard for crosswalks, traffic signals and basic roadway safety rules," the post said.
The officers were eventually able to successfully coax the beaver into the nearby woods.
