Drug driver admits he is high on ketamine minutes after killing motorcyclist
A drug driver admitted he had taken ketamine minutes after killing a motorcyclist in a fatal crash. Police were called to Chorley Old Road, Bolton, on 14 December 2024, where a car, belonging to Cormac Sale, 22, had collided with a motorbike. The rider, 22-year-old Spencer Rothwell-Poole, from Horwich, died at the scene. Sale, of Ina Avenue, Bolton, was arrested and found to be almost 10 times over the legal limit for ketamine whilst driving. He had been driving erratically throughout the evening and was on the opposite side of the road when the collision occurred, police said. Sale was jailed for 10 years and eight months at Bolton Crown Court on Thursday (26 February), after pleading guilty to causing death by dangerous driving. He has been banned from driving for just over 12 years.
