Team USA women’s hockey stars Hilary Knight and Megan Keller made a surprise cameo on “SNL” this weekend to clown Donald Trump over his degrading joke about inviting their squad to the nation’s capital. (Watch the moment below.)
During the “Saturday Night Live” monologue, host and “Heated Rivalry” star Connor Storrie shared his doubts that he pulled off his role in the hit HBO Max show after watching athletes on the ice at this year’s Winter Olympics.
That’s when U.S. men’s hockey stars and brothers Quinn and Jack Hughes — the latter of whom scored the golden, overtime goal in the Olympic final over Canada — crashed Studio 8H. The two noted that they didn’t get around to the actor’s queer hockey romance during their undefeated run in Milan.
“Oh, I hope some hockey players watched it,” Storrie said just before Knight and Keller, the latter of whom secured gold with an overtime goal of her own over Canada in her team’s final, walked onto the stage.
The cameo by the two women’s stars caused the “SNL” crowd to erupt in applause for nearly 30 seconds.
