Senior IPS officer S. Davidson Devasirvatham has been posted as Director-General of Police(DGP)/ Director of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption. The post fell vacant after Abhay Kumar Singh retired in January.
A 1995 batch IPS officer in Tamil Nadu cadre, Mr. Devasirvatham has held the position of Police Commissioner of Madurai city and as Inspector-General of Police, West Zone in Tamil Nadu. He held the posts of the Additional DGP (ADGP) Intelligence, Headquarters and Technical, before his promotion as DGP, Armed Police.
Mr. Davidson will hold full additional charge of the post of DGP, Armed Police.
H.M. Jayaram, IPS, who was on compulsory wait at Police Headquarters, has been posted as ADGP and Director of Civil Defence. Mr. Jayaram was placed under suspension following his arrest in connection with the kidnapping of a juvenile boy from Thiruvalangadu in Tiruvallur district in June 2025.
K. Bhavaneeswari, Inspector-General of Police (IGP), has been shifted from Avadi Police Commissionerate and posted as IGP, Headquarters. A.G. Babu has been posted as IGP, Modernisation, after being transferred from Railways.
