Heroic rescue team pulls unconscious man from submerged car in freezing Colorado lake

Watch as a heroic team of rescuers pull an unconscious man out from a car submerged in a freezing Colorado lake. Footage shared by Colorado Springs Fire Department on Thursday (19 February) shows first responders wading through icy waters at Prospect Lake. Firefighters and officers from Colorado Springs Police Department can be seen climbing on top of the car and smashing the windows to free the unconscious male. He was transported to hospital and as of Friday (20 February), remains in a critical condition. Several ambulances were called to warm first responders exposed to the extreme cold. Two firefighters and two officers were transported with minor injuries and hypothermia. They have since all been released from hospital.
