A dedicated Surgical Oncology Operation Theatre and Pediatric Oncology Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) Unit were inaugurated at Shirdi Saibaba Cancer Centre in Manipal on Tuesday.
The Pediatric Oncology BMT Unit is equipped with advanced infrastructure, specialised isolation rooms, and infection-control measures designed specifically to meet international standards for bone marrow transplantation. The dedicated oncology operation theatre is tailored to handle complex oncological surgeries with enhanced safety and precision, a release from Kasturba Hospital in Manipal said.
Speaking on the occasion, Anand Venugopal, chief operating officer, MAHE, Manipal, said that the addition of these advanced facilities further strengthens the capabilities of the Manipal Comprehensive Cancer Centre.
“Our goal is to ensure that all cancer-related treatments are available under one roof, providing seamless, high-quality, and patient-centric care,” he said.
