Department of Brain and Neurology at Velammal Hospital has successfully treated over 800 patients using advanced neurological interventions.
During a press briefing here on Monday, medical experts highlighted how modern technology is turning the tide against stroke-related paralysis and brain haemorrhages.
Ganesh Kumar, Head of the Neurology Department, emphasised that time was the most critical factor in treating neurological emergencies. “By utilising immediate Angio procedures for brain haemorrhages and vascular ruptures, we can prevent long-term paralysis,” he stated.
Medical science identifies a ‘Golden Hour’—a window of four to six hours post-onset—during which immediate hospital admission can mean the difference between permanent disability and a full recovery.
