In an apparent attempt to avert a crisis with world Jewry, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu cancelled on Sunday a government vote on controversial legislation that would effectively prohibit egalitarian prayer at Jerusalem's Western Wall as well as prevent the feminist prayer group Women of the Wall from holding a monthly service at the Jewish holy site.
