The history curriculum taught in Israel's schools has remained basically unchanged for decades, as though any formative national events ended after the 1973 Yom Kippur War
In my high school history class at the end of the 1980s, Mira Levy would seat herself behind the teacher's desk, open an old notebook, and start lecturing. I think we stopped somewhere at the conquests of the Six-Day War of 1967. Too bad I didn't keep the summaries I prepared in advance for my matriculation exam. They might have helped me in the past few days when I prepped my son for his exam in history.
