For the first time, Nimrod Cohen shares the story of how he survived two years in Hamas captivity

On October 7 we got up just before 5:30 A.M. for a dawn alert. We were two tank crews of soldiers from the Golani Brigade at the "White House" outpost. We got dressed and entered the tank. Everything looked calm and, according to procedure, we went to sleep in the compartments, with one person staying awake to listen to the vehicle radio. We woke up suddenly from explosions of mortar shells and then calls of "Purple Rain" on the radio – warning of incoming rounds nearby. Immediately afterward, shouts of "There's been a penetration!" started.
