Feb. 18 (UPI) -- Team USA hockey star Hilary Knight proposed to speed skater Brittany Bowe at the 2026 Winter Olympics, the couple announced Wednesday on social media.
Knight posted footage of herself going down on one knee and proposing to Bowe, who said yes, in Milan, Italy. The couple met at the 2022 Winter Olympics.
"Olympics brought us together," Knight wrote on the social media post announcing the engagement. "This one made us forever."
Bowe finished fourth in the women's 1,000-meter final and team pursuit. She will make another medal attempt in Friday's 1,500-meter final. The two-time Olympic bronze medalist holds the world record in the 1,000-meter distance and previously held the world record in the 1,500.
