The Delhi High Court on Tuesday (February 17, 2026) said Jaideep Sengar, brother of expelled Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Kuldeep Sengar, should surrender in the absence of any order extending the earlier interim bail granted to him on medical grounds in the case pertaining to the custodial death of the father of the Unnao rape survivor.
Jaideep Sengar, who was awarded a 10-year jail term in the case by a trial court, has sought an extension of his interim bail by three months as he is suffering from oral cancer.
Counsel representing the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), however, said it was not a fit case for extension of interim bail, claiming that the prescription submitted by Jaideep Sengar in support of his plea was not genuine but fabricated.

“Your interim bail was only for a particular period, and you should have surrendered. I just read the file, and there is no order [extending the interim bail],” the court said.
