Feb. 16 (UPI) -- Three people were killed and three more injured in a shooting at a high school hockey game in Rhode Island that police said stemmed from a family dispute.
The father of a North Providence High School senior shot five members of the student's family during a game at the Dennis M. Lynch Arena on Monday afternoon, injuring three people and killing two before turning the gun on himself, NBC-10 Boston and WPRI-12 reported.
One of the victims was pronounced dead at the scene and four were taken to the hospital, where one died and the other three remain in critical condition, CBS-5 reported.
Police said during a press conference that the shooter died from an apparent gunshot wound to the head.
