Feb. 16 (UPI) -- The producer of the hit Apple TV show Tehran was found dead in a hotel room in Athens, Greece, where the fourth season of the show is being shot.

Dana Eden, 52, was found by her brother on Sunday and, despite earlier reports of a "criminal or nationalistic-related death," Athens police told reporters that she died by suicide, The Guardian reported.

Tehran, which was renewed for its fourth season by Apple TV in December, is a global espionage thriller that follows an Iranian-born Israeli-raised spy.

"We mourn the passing of our colleague and partner in a long series of productions, series and programs at the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation," the broadcaster, called Kan, said in a statement, The New York Times reported.

Israeli media earlier in the day had erroneously reported earlier in the day that police in Greece were investigating whether Iran was involved in Eden's death based on the regime's criticism of the show as propaganda, but both police and Eden's production company spoke out that foul play was not suspected.
