Immediately after the October 7 massacre, we were completely immersed in the disaster that had befallen us. Stunned and dizzied by the images and videos that Hamas took, which recorded every possible form of humiliation, mutilation and desecration of human beings, their homes and their surroundings. In the first week of the war, Israel imposed a hermetic siege on the Gaza Strip in response and gave 1.1 million of Gaza's residents one day to leave their homes. The Israel Air Force dropped nearly 1,000 bombs a day. Among the 2,215 Gazans killed in those first six days were dozens of children. It was the deadliest week of the war; hundreds of hostages in Gaza were also in danger of being killed in the bombings.
