An Olympic curling controversy has the internet pushing pointed memes.
During men's curling round-robin play on Feb. 13, Sweden accused Canada of intentionally breaking the rules in the Canadians' 8-6 preliminary round win at the 2026 Winter Games.
Sweden’s Oskar Eriksson accused Canada's Marc Kennedy of double touching the stone, sparking a heated expletive-filled exchange between the teams that resulted in a verbal warning from World Curling.
In response to the accusations, World Curling said officials would monitor opponents’ deliveries more closely moving forward.
But, like all unusual moments during the Games, the alleged push isn't slipping through the internet's fingers. A side-angle video of Kennedy releasing the stone showing his finger extended has become the subject of viral memes in the days since.
