PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. – Travis Kelce is used to applying hits on the gridiron. On Friday, the three-time Super Bowl winning tight end did it with a long iron, beaning a fan, Edenne Flinn, with an errant shot at Pebble Beach Golf Links.
But that wasn’t the only effect Kelce, a 10 handicap, (and his fiancée Taylor Swift) had on the 2026 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. When Steve John, executive director of the Monterey Peninsula Foundation, the charitable organization that runs the tournament, announced Kelce would be playing in the 36-hole pro-am on Thursday and Friday, the tournament sold $60,000 in tickets in the next 12 hours.
“Travis is the man. We had a lot of fun,” said his professional playing partner Keith Mitchell. “He hits it really far, really far. I clubbed him too much on 16, he hit it through the fairway. I should have definitely pulled it back. And I think he was beating me through five or six holes yesterday gross, so I was a little skeptical of his handicap. But he played a little -- unfortunately, he didn't play as well today, but awesome guy, great player.”
“He’s got a great way about him but when you’re with him you don’t feel like he’s Travis Kelce dating Taylor Swift.”
Mackenzie Hughes, who played in the foursome with his partner, former Chief QB Alex Smith, said there was great energy and vibe in the group. Mitchell echoed that sentiment.
