Feb. 12 (UPI) -- Kendrick Simpson died by lethal injection Thursday morning at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary in McAlester for killing two during a drive-by shooting in 2006.

Simpson, 45, was pronounced dead at 10:19 a.m. CST and was the second person executed this week in the United States.

A jury in 2007 found him guilty of first-degree murder and related crimes in the deaths of Anthony Jones, 19, and Glen Palmer, 20, by firing about 20 shots at them during a drive-by shooting in Oklahoma City in 2006.

Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond recently said Simpson "hunted his victims" and did not show "genuine remorse" for killing them.
