Feb. 12 (UPI) -- Border czar Tom Homan said Thursday that the federal government will withdraw thousands of immigration agents from the Minneapolis area.
Homan added that the drawdown is a response to "unprecedented levels of coordination" from state and local officials. There has also been a decrease in "unlawful agitator activity," though more than 200 protesters have been arrested.
Homan did not specify the timeframe when those 200 arrests took place.
The announcement follows more than a month of heavy activity by federal immigration agents in the Minneapolis area resulting in the killings of two civilians by agents: Renee Good and Alex Pretti, both 37 years old.
