Bill Maher says it’s possible he and fellow television host Jimmy Kimmel “may never talk again” after a bitter falling-out.
On Monday’s episode of his “Club Random” podcast, Maher got candid about his past friendship with Kimmel, and suggested a difference in their political views had come between them.
“He’s very mad at me, and I know you’re close to him,” he told guest Adam Carolla, who co-hosted Comedy Central’s “The Man Show” with Kimmel from 1999 to 2004. “I hope you tell him that I’m sorry that they got bent out of shape. I don’t think I did anything wrong. We can have disagreements.”
Describing Kimmel as “one of the nicest guys,” Maher added, “My tribe is supposed to be the left, but these are the people who just can’t talk to you unless you’re exactly there, whereas the Republicans, they always fucking come to my show.”
Maher did not share specifics of what fractured his relationship with Kimmel in his “Club Random” chat. Last year, however, he publicly criticized Kimmel’s wife, Molly McNearney, after she acknowledged severing ties with family members who supported President Donald Trump.
