Feb. 10 (UPI) -- The Studio, Schitt's Creek, Home Alone and Beetlejuice icon Catherine O'Hara died of a pulmonary embolism or blood clot in her lungs, according to media outlets that saw her death certificate Monday.

The New York Times said the document also revealed that rectal cancer was an underlying cause of her death on Jan. 30 at the age of 71.

TMZ reported the Emmy winner was cremated and her remains were given to her husband, Bo Welch.

The comedy legend died after she was taken to the hospital because she was having trouble breathing.
