Trump: Americans Are Living In 'The Trump Economy' And 'I'm Very Proud Of It'President Donald Trump said he’s “very proud” of the current economy while downplaying affordability concerns, saying “prices are way down” with food and gasoline and that he has “fixed the problem” that Democrats created. In an interview with "NBC Nightly News" anchor Tom Llamas, which aired Sunday, Trump said Democrats can no longer complain about “affordability” issues thanks to him.“At what point are we in the Trump economy?” Llamas asked.“Oh, I’d say we’re there now. I’m very proud of it,” Trump said before claiming 5.6% GDP growth and trillions in foreign investment.Official data for the latest third quarter, in contrast, showed a 4.4% rate. A White House official told NBC that Trump was referring to a fourth-quarter projection by the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta.Said Trump: “$18 trillion is being invested in our country as we speak. And there are factories and plants, and thousands of businesses being built all over the country.”These plants will open within the next year to 18 months, he said.A recent poll by NPR, Marist and PBS News showed that 59% of Americans disapprove of Trump’s handling of the economy, while 36% approve. The disapproval rating is the highest seen in either of his two administrations.Llamas: You said you inherited a mess from President Biden.
