Leandra Medine Cohen has created a career out of getting dressed. The New York-based Substacker first made her name in the early 2010s with personal blog-turned-media company Man Repeller, which chronicled her irreverent, sometimes offbeat looks. Her ensembles – from coloured tights and blazers to a fringed silk scarf wrapped around the waist as a belt – are now the subject of the twice-weekly newsletter The Cereal Aisle.
But when she was choosing the Upper East Side apartment that she moved into six years ago, storage space for her enviable collection of clothes was something of an afterthought. “I wish I had taken my wardrobe needs more seriously but I was thinking more about my family and my kids,” she says. As a result, “my clothes are kind of scattered all over the place”.
