A day after a police Inspector was killed and 12 persons were injured when a “Top Spin” swing collapsed at Surajkund International Crafts Festival in Faridabad, the Haryana Police on Sunday (February 8, 2026) arrested two persons, including the proprietor of the company that installed the swing. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been set up for a thorough probe into the tragic incident.

Six of the injured, including the four admitted at the Civil Hospital, have been discharged, said the police.
During the course of investigation, Himachal Pradesh resident Mohammad Shakir, the proprietor of Himachal Fun Care Company responsible for installing the swings at the fair premises, and Nitesh, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, have been arrested. The role of other persons involved is being examined, said the police.
A case was registered on charges of culpable homicide not amounting to murder and other relevant sections in connection with the incident.
