SAN JOSE, Calif., Feb. 5 (UPI) -- Seattle Seahawks safety Nick Emmanwori expects to play in Super Bowl LX despite sustaining a low-ankle sprain at practice, he told reporters Thursday.
Emmanwori hurt his ankle toward the end of the session Wednesday at San Jose State in San Jose, Calif.
"It kinda caught me off guard," Emmanwori said Thursday at the San Jose Convention Center. "Practice wasn't crazy or anything. We weren't going hard out there. I just rolled it. I'll be good to go for Sunday. I'm looking forward to that."
Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald also said he fully expects Emmanwori to play against the New England Patriots on Sunday in Santa Clara, Calif.
Emmanwori, a second-round pick by the Seahawks in the 2025 NFL Draft, missed three games in September due to a high-ankle sprain to the same ankle. He said his current injury is "not as severe."
