LONDON: Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, the Saudi minister of culture, visited Syria on Thursday to attend the Damascus International Book Fair 2026, where the Kingdom is the guest of honor.

Prince Badr met with his Syrian counterpart, Mohammed Yassin Saleh. During their meeting, they highlighted the deep cultural ties between the two countries and the significance of cultural cooperation, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

Several officials from the Saudi Ministry of Culture and Royal Court counselors attended the meeting, including Abdulrahman bin Muammar, the general supervisor of the King Abdulaziz Public Library in Riyadh.

The cultural event runs from Feb. 6-16. Qatar and Saudi Arabia are guests of honor at the fair.
