Curling has been an Olympic staple for more than a century − it was one of six sports featured in 1924 when the first Winter Games were held in Chamonix, France.

This year's competition will be hosted at Italy's Cortina Curling Olympic Stadium, a venue built in 1955 for the Cortina d’Ampezzo 1956 Olympic Winter Games.

The United States will compete in all three curling events the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics. Team Casper, led by Danny Casper, will compete in the men's curling event; Team Peterson, led by Tabitha Peterson, will compete in women's curling; and Cory Thiesse and Korey Dropkin will compete in the mixed doubles event.

Team USA has won two Olympic medals in curling, most recently a gold medal by Team Shuster in the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games men's event. The other was a bronze medal in the 2006 Torino Winter Olympics men's event.Here's a closer look at the classic event:
