A total of 25 Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS) cameras installed on the Mysuru-Bengaluru National Highway have been capturing various traffic violations committed by motorists.

According to a written reply by Home Minister G. Parameshwara to a question by MLC Madhu G. Madegowda in the Legislative Council. the ITMS cameras automatically captured traffic violations committed by vehicles using National Highway 275, and sent penalty-related details along with violation information to the registered mobile number of vehicle owners via SMS.

The cameras are enabled with automatic number plate detection technology. They recorded various violations, including speeding, driving in the wrong way, no-entry violations, not wearing seat belt, and lane discipline violations.

“The system records the vehicle number involved in the violation along with the vehicle image, location, and time details,” the Minister informed the Council.

The ITMS cameras have been installed at various points in Bengaluru South district (Ramanagara), Mandya district and in Mysuru city.
