Patrick Mahomes Sr. allegedly violated his probation and was placed in the Smith County Jail in Tyler, Texas, KLTV reported Tuesday.
Citing district attorney Jacob Putman, the ABC affiliate wrote that Mahomes allegedly drank alcohol ― a breach of the conditions placed on him after pleading guilty to DWI in February 2024. He was given a five-year probation sentence.
Putman said Mahomes, the father of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, could have a hearing to contest the allegation.
The violation report alleged that Mahomes registered a high alcohol reading on his special ankle monitor on Jan. 1, TMZ noted.
The elder Mahomes, who pitched for the New York Mets and several other teams in an 11-season MLB career, has been arrested at least three times for drinking and driving.
