Feb. 3 (UPI) -- The Walt Disney Co. announced Tuesday that Josh D'Amaro will be its new chief executive officer, succeeding Bob Iger.
The company also announced the promotion of Dana Walden to president and chief creative officer.
D'Amaro, 56, is the company's chairman of the experiences division, heading operations of Disney's parks. He will assume the role of CEO on March 18.
"Josh D'Amaro possesses that rare combination of inspiring leadership and innovation, a keen eye for strategic growth opportunities, and a deep passion for the Disney brand and its people -- all of which make him the right person to take the helm as Disney's next CEO," James Gorman, chairman of Disney's board of directors, said in a statement.
