President Donald Trump claimed Monday to have convinced Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to cease importing Russian oil and to instead “buy much more from the United States and, potentially, Venezuela.”
In exchange, Trump said, the U.S. would reduce the tariffs on Indian exports from 25% to 18%, while India would similarly lower tariffs on U.S. exports to the country.
