Israel in 2025, Through the Eyes of Haaretz Photographers
This past year, for Israelis, was a collage of the highest highs and the lowest lows. They rejoiced as the living hostages returned from Gaza, scarred but standing, and wept as those who could have been saved if a deal had been made in time were laid to rest. They ran for shelter as Iran rained ballistic missiles on their towns and cities, and celebrated as the war that stifled the air from their lives for two years came to a purported close.
At Tel Aviv's Hostages Square, former IDF spotters celebrate Agam Berger's release from Hamas captivity in Tel Aviv's Hostages Square. Berger was one of five women spotters taken from the Nahal Oz base on October 7, and the last to be released in late January.
