Feb. 1 (UPI) -- Sanford and Son star Grady Demond Wilson has died at his home in Palm Springs, Calif. He was 79.
In announcing the actor's Friday death, Demons Wilson Jr. told TMZ: "I loved him. He was a great man."
Another son, Christopher, told The New York Times Wilson died after a battle with prostate cancer.
The Georgia native starred on Sandford and Son with Redd Foxx. The beloved show ran 1972-77.
His other credits included All in the Family, Baby... I'm Back, The New Odd Couple, Me and the Kid and Eleanor's Bench.
