Don Lemon and eight others have been charged in what the Justice Department has absurdly called “a takeover-style attack” on a Minnesota church, according to a newly unsealed indictment.

The indictment, signed by U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi, charges Lemon and his co-defendants with two counts of criminal conspiracy: Conspiracy against the right of religious freedom at a place of worship, and conspiracy to injure, intimidate and interfere with the exercise of religious freedom. Two of the defendants’ names are redacted in the indictment.

Lemon, an independent journalist and former anchor at CNN, was live-streaming the demonstration at Cities Church on Jan. 18 in St. Paul.

Demonstrators showed up to protest against masked federal agents involved in snatching immigrants off the streets and killing two people earlier this month in Minneapolis. The church’s pastor, Davis Easterwood, has also been accused of being an ICE official in the state.

In the indictment, Lemon and his co-defendants are accused of conducting “a takeover-style attack” on the church.
