Organized by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, the tournament is part of the WTA 500 series on the Women’s Tennis Association calendar. The opening day of the 2026 tournament is Family Day, with free entry for all fans. The initiative “allows families to experience the atmosphere of the tournament and enjoy a full program of on-site entertainment alongside the opening day of tennis week in the UAE capital,” a press release stated.
