Kevin Couch, a senior official from the newly revamped Trump Kennedy Center, has stepped down from the organization, less than two weeks after being appointed.
Couch, who was named senior vice president of artistic programming on Jan. 16, confirmed his resignation to The New York Times and The Washington Post on Wednesday, Jan. 28. The entertainment executive did not disclose the reason for his exit.
The Trump Kennedy Center previously announced that Couch was going to "lead strategic artistic planning across disciplines and broaden the center's national and international partnerships" in his top role at the iconic performing arts venue, formerly known as the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
"I am honored to join the Trump-Kennedy Center at such a pivotal moment for the performing arts," Couch said in a Jan. 16 statement. "I look forward to the extraordinary creative possibilities ahead — championing our artists and partners to deliver meaningful experiences at America's cultural center."
USA TODAY has reached out to the Trump Kennedy Center and Couch for comment.
