Sen. Thom Tillis (R-S.C.) said Friday he'll block President Donald Trump's nominee to be the next Federal Reserve Board chair.
Tillis, a member of the Senate Banking Committee, previously said he'd use his committee position to prevent Trump from advancing nominees so long as his administration uses the Justice Department to try to intimidate the central bank through subpoenas related to testimony current Fed Chair Jerome Powell gave Congress last year.
Tillis said Trump's nominee, Kevin Warsh, is qualified and knowledgeable about monetary policy.
