Right-wing podcaster Megyn Kelly griped on Monday that she’s “so sick” of Americans like Alex Pretti and Renee Good getting shot to death by federal agents because of what she called “their own terrible decision-making.”Pretti “was there with a loaded gun, looking to cause trouble for the Border Patrol agents, and that trouble came back on him,” Kelly claimed on her show.Footage of the 37-year-old nurse’s killing on Saturday showed immigration officers confronting him, then wrestling him to the ground. A video analysis by The Washington Post showed an agent taking Pretti’s firearm from his holster before agents shot him multiple times.“I’m so sick of this bullshit,” Kelly complained on Monday while suggesting there was misconduct on Pretti’s part. “These are organized agitators who train to disrupt and in some cases, hurt law enforcement,” she claimed, saying protesters against the immigration crackdown are “looking for confrontations.” “You don’t resist arrest,” she chided. “You don’t antagonize cops in the middle of the street in a law enforcement operation, and then, when they’ve got hands on you, trying to place you under arrest, you submit. That’s it. Submit,” Kelly shouted.“I know I’m supposed to feel sorry for Alex Pretti, but I don’t. I don’t. Do you know why I wasn’t shot by Border Patrol this weekend? Because I kept my ass inside and out of their operations,” she said."I know I'm supposed to feel sorry for Alex Pretti but I don't. You know why I wasn't shot by Border Patrol this weekend? Responding to Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz’s demand that ICE leave his state, Kelly joked on X that Trump “should pull ICE out of MN today & announce that there will be no more immigration enforcement in MN at all. All illegals in the US are encouraged to move there.”Her latest remarks received immediate backlash, with MeidasTouch’s Brett Meiselas writing on X, “You can tell these people aren’t actually religious because if they were they’d actually be worried about going to hell.”Democratic influencer Harry Sisson wrote, “If someone said they don’t feel sorry for Charlie Kirk she would lose it but if it’s an ICU nurse who did nothing wrong then it’s OK, according to Megyn. Nice!”Former Republican National Committee chair and MS NOW host Michael Steele chastized Kelly for choosing to be “cruel instead of compassionate,” quoting the Bible while telling her, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” You chose to be cruel instead of compassionate; to be evil in spirit instead of empathetic; to ignore what God asks us to do—"You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Matthew 22:39. Perhaps Megyn you don’t feel anything for Alex because you don’t feel anything for yourself. https://t.co/e6RV4hMAVR— Michael Steele (@MichaelSteele) January 27, 2026Close
